The Essence

The Essence of Our Merimbula is a collective retail store project undertaken by Merimbula Chamber of Commerce (Our Merimbula).

The store is located in the heart of town and currently features six vendors including

  • Tracey Creighton Art
    Tracey worked as a visual artist, designer and art tutor for forty-five years and has developed works which reveal a constant and ever changing dynamism of ideas. She works in a number of techniques and styles using acrylics, oils and mixed media, and when painting draws on her own experiences albeit spiritual, emotional or physical.
  • Kath Unsworth Art
    Kath Unsworth is a bird/wildlife artist. With many years experience as a graphic designer. Kath’s dream is to use her skillset to create art that reminds us to celebrate the minuscule moments in nature and really see what is often not noticed in our own back yards. Kath is inspired by the many species of birds/wildlife on the South Coast. Choice of mediums, working in pen and ink to create detailed illustrations, and also coloured pencils on black paper. Kath’s mission, is to keep some of her art affordable by offering cards and canvas prints along with original pieces.
  • Eden Eco
    Eden Ecos started in 2018 with a vision to make everyday eco products more accessible and affordable for people in the Bega Valley. Owner Shannon Woloshyn started by selling upcycled and hand made environmentally friendly goods at local markets and soon found there to be a large demand for eco goods in the valley and began researching other sustainable products available on the market. This led to her supplying a number of products produced by ethical Australian businesses and international fair trade businesses. Today Eden Ecos has grown to have over 200 products online and in store at The Essence of Merimbula. Products available cover homewares, body and beauty products, local products and childrens toys.
  • Sapphire Coast Photography
    As a freelance photographer, John captures landscapes and seascapes using traditional cameras and drones. John’s images are available on fine art paper in timber frames or acrylic face mounts. You can experience the beauty of Sapphire Coast in your space with John’s art, also on cards, coasters, and place mats.
  • Sapphire Coast Studios
    We are Sapphire Coast Studios, three people who share a passion for design, a love of the ocean and many good years of friendship.  After several years living and working abroad, Kim & Shahram returned to Australia to fulfill a life-long dream to settle on the Sapphire Coast and create a business that will allow them to showcase the unique scenery and lifestyle of the region.
  • Blue Willow Vintage
    Melanie Ford is a Primary Teacher and Creative Artist who has combined her love of teaching with her passion for painting. She has been upcycling furniture for over 10 years and offers a large variety of painting workshops in her home studio in Tura Beach. Her passion is to encourage and empower women to learn a new skill at any age. Melanie also welcomes children to her classes and can adapt workshops to suit all abilities. Melanie has more recently dabbled in painting on canvas with the South Coast being her inspiration. At The Essence, Melanie offers quality eco friendly paint, speciality brushes, accessories and advice to help you get started on your own projects. Her motto is to Inspire. Motivate. Paint. Create

The Essence is located at Shop 4B Merimbula Drive, directly opposite the Post Office and is currently open 7 days a week.
