The Chamber is off and running in 2013. We received so much praise for the New Year’s Eve Event; thank you! It was great to get this back on the rails to showcase our beautiful town. The town was packed over Christmas and local businesses were happy. There are some great events coming up in March, especially over the VIC and ACT Long Weekend.
First of all there is Rock N Rodders Dance Festival March 8-10 Club Sapphire The event focusses on 50′s Dancing, Memorabilia and Hot rodding. On Friday March 8th 2013 the Festival will kick off with a dance, with the workshops and main dance on Saturday. We have chosen the “Victorian Labour Day” and “Canberra Day” long weekend to allow for an afternoon Hotrod “Show and Shine” on Sunday, giving those from Vic and ACT, time to return home on Monday. For those still enjoying their visit and who are lucky enough to have the Monday holiday. there will be a Farewell Dinner Dance and Dance Competition on Sunday night at our host venue, Club Sapphire.
Then there is EAT Merimbula March 10 which will provide plated premium local fare from our most accomplished local chefs. We’ll have up to 20 of our best chefs and food entrepreneurs creating something special for the day. Kingfish sushimi, gourmet pastries, giant paellas, mouth-watering oysters – and plenty of surprises. And also there is The inaugural Big Boyz Toyz Expo March 9. It will bring together all the mouth-watering goodies that blokes’ dreams are made of. The best there is in utes and boats, go-karts and surfboards, 4WD gear and mountain bikes, camping gear, tools and much, much more. And finally Seachange StartUp Camp Merimbula March 15th at 5pm till Saturday March 16th at 7pm An intensive weekend Start Up Camp that will show you how to transform your bright idea into a booming online business. Anyone can participate…no web or business experience necessary (though it helps) – just bring energy and enthusiasm and your ideas! Teams brainstorm to come up with a great idea and then work intensively under our Start Up Camp guidance to make their business concept a sure-fire success.
