The Essence

 

The Essence of Our Merimbula is a collective retail store project undertaken by Merimbula Chamber of Commerce (Our Merimbula).

The store is located in the heart of town and currently features seven vendors including

  • Sapphire Coast Photography
  • As a freelance photographer, John captures landscapes and seascapes using traditional cameras and drones. John’s images are available on fine art paper in timber frames or acrylic face mounts. You can experience the beauty of Sapphire Coast in your space with John’s art, also on cards, coasters, and place mats.
  • Sapphire Coast Studios
    We are Sapphire Coast Studios, three people who share a passion for design, a love of the ocean and many good years of friendship.  After several years living and working abroad, Kim & Shahram returned to Australia to fulfill a life-long dream to settle on the Sapphire Coast and create a business that will allow them to showcase the unique scenery and lifestyle of the region.
  • Blue Willow Vintage
    Melanie Ford is a Primary Teacher and Creative Artist who combines her passion for teaching with her expertise in painting and furniture upcycling.
    Relocating to the stunning Sapphire Coast sparked Melanie’s desire to capture the region’s natural beauty on canvas, resulting in a distinctive “calm coastal” artistic style. Her artwork is showcased at The Essence of Our Merimbula. At The Essence, Melanie also offers high-quality eco-friendly paints, specialty brushes, accessories, and expert guidance to support customers in bringing their own creative projects to life.  In addition, she has carefully curated a selection of coastal-inspired jewellery, locally made candles, and handcrafted pottery, making it easy to find thoughtful and unique gifts.
  • Boardwalk Gallery
    Locally designed and handcrafted jewellery, bespoke clothing, handbags and accessories.  Helen Noice designs are one-of-a-kind or created in limited editions using high-quality materials sourced from around the world. From pearls, Swarovski crystals and Venetian glass to natural stones, precious metals and handcrafted details, every piece is thoughtfully designed to be unique and timeless. Alongside her jewellery collection, Helen also creates bespoke clothing, handbags and accessories made with creativity, individuality and style in mind.

  • Seachange Originals
    Kerry is a mixed media artist living on the Far South Coast of New South Wales.
    In 2016, Kerry launched Seachange Originals.  Drawing from her 30 year background in Design, she explores colour, form and texture in her artwork and home decor pieces. These pieces convey her impressions of nature and all that the
    stunning, local South Coast environment provides. Her artwork has been commissioned for private homes as well as commercial spaces.

  • Beach'd
    Beach’d is a bold coastal-inspired lifestyle brand combining handcrafted flavour, creative design, and modern seaside style.  From artisan nougat to gourmet relishes and unique resin creations, every Beach’d product is designed to capture the relaxed spirit of the coast with an edgy, contemporary twist. Alongside the gourmet collection, Beach’d also offers beautifully crafted resin charcuterie boards,
    artistic key ring holders, household ornaments, and decorative pieces designed to bring colour, texture, and personality into the home.

  • Isle of Wild
    Zinnia Golding founded Isle of Wild from a lifelong love of vibrant colour, expressive print and clothing that feels alive. Raised in the Otways of rural Victoria by her bohemian mother and artist father, she grew up surrounded by art, nature and creativity.  Inspired by travels through India, Thailand and Indonesia, Zinnia fell in love with traditional craftsmanship, rich colour and intricate print — influences still woven through every Isle of Wild collection today. Now based on the Sapphire Coast with her children and pups, she designs pieces that feel joyful, expressive and easy to live in. Each collection is shaped not only by creativity, but by the women
    who wear it — evolving through real conversations, feedback and connection.

 

The Essence is located at Shop 4B Merimbula Drive, directly opposite the Post Office and is currently open 7 days a week.
